Timber houses and industrial painting: the importance of effective and sustainable treatment
Timber houses are one of the strongest trends in modern construction. Increasingly in demand for residential, hospitality, and public buildings, these structures combine energy efficiency, environmental sustainability, and high design flexibility. Their advantages are numerous: fast construction times, excellent thermal and acoustic insulation, low environmental impact, and seamless landscape integration.
However, to ensure durability and resistance to external stresses (weather, UV rays, humidity), proper surface treatment is essential. This is where Finiture technology comes into play, with coating systems designed to meet the specific needs of timber construction and prefabrication.
A complete plant for coating structural timber components
To handle beams, walls, roofs, window frames, and other wooden elements used in construction, Finiture has developed a high-performance system that combines precision, productivity, and sustainability.
At the core of the system is a Power&Free overhead conveyor with 100 bars of 3500 mm. This modular solution allows for independent accumulation and transfer phases, ensuring flexibility even for customized and variable production flows.
For impregnation, the Superjet tunnel — a vertical flow-coating system — guarantees deep, uniform coverage of all surfaces, including hard-to-reach areas. Excess product is collected and recirculated, increasing efficiency and reducing waste.
Next, the parts enter the DRY-A dry painting booth, which uses dry filters and an air recirculation system to minimize energy consumption and particle emissions.
Smart automation for large surfaces
Finishing is performed by a LARGE anthropomorphic robot RAS with 6 controlled axes and a working area of 4000x2500 mm, featuring:
- Automatic color change
- Nozzle cleaning system
- Laser sensor for angle detection
These features ensure precise application even on complex or oversized parts, minimizing downtime and improving finish quality.
Efficient drying and full control
Drying takes place in the Pro Dry tunnel, equipped with axial fans and LDP (Low Pressure Drying) technology for uniform, controlled drying—ideal for water-based cycles.
The entire line is managed by Supervisor, Finiture’s control system. Thanks to RFID technology and an intuitive interface, every phase of the production cycle can be customized and monitored in real time.
A concrete solution for sustainable construction
With its modular structure, energy efficiency, and high automation level, this coating plant is an ideal solution for companies in the timber housing sector seeking to combine industrial performance with sustainability and aesthetics.
With Finiture, technology meets tradition to enhance nature’s finest material: wood.
