A family-run business with a long tradition

Setz Fensterbau AG was founded in 1960 by Hans Setz in Schötz, then as a sole proprietorship under the name Schreinerei Hans Setz. Today, after multiple expansions, the company has 35 employees, all of whom pursue a single goal: to offer customers an excellent service and continually revolutionize window construction.

In modern production facilities, windows, but also sliding doors and entrance doors are produced according to the latest technical standards. The products are adapted to customer wishes and, where possible, are made from materials sourced in Switzerland.

The Setz company, which had already relied on Finiture to equip itself with a horizontal impregnation line for profiles, contacted us last year to further expand their company's painting department, asking for a finishing system for doors and frames.

To meet the customer's production needs, we have designed and delivered a conveyor with Power&Free technology equipped with 40 6m bars, to be able to manage even the largest elements of the customer's production. The line is completely automated and equipped with control of the position of the bars, and therefore of the elements to be painted, using RFiD technology. A special Supervisor manages the entire painting cycle from the moment of loading to the unloading of the finished pieces: when one or more elements are loaded onto a scale, a work cycle is associated with it, so that the Supervisor can manage all the work phases. In this way there is absolute efficiency and precision of the painting system, multi-user control and above all easy customization according to the customer's needs.

The spraying is carried out by two 6-axis anthropomorphic robots, installed one in front of the other inside a single booth with floor suction, and capable of painting elements with dimensions of up to 6000x3500mm. The robots are equipped with a scanner for reading the pieces hanging on the racks, which detects their dimensions, geometry and position on the rack before entering the cabin. This information, combined with the data present in the painting cycle associated with the hanger, allows the robots to paint the pieces automatically, without further intervention by the operator. In fact, the robots are also equipped with an automatic color change system, which allows the robot's spray gun to be loaded with the product specified in the painting cycle extremely quickly. Furthermore, this automatic system completely eliminates the risk of mixing the different products during the change and reduces product losses to a minimum. Consequently we also have the nozzle cleaning set, for quick and effective cleaning, so that the nozzle of the guns is always free of paint residues to ensure optimal results.

Last but not least we also have six axial fans, designed to uniformly distribute the air in the areas for drying water-based painted products.
